Family Resource Center McKinney Vento and Foster Student Information
Family Resource Center (FRC) – Free Support for HUSD Families
The FRC provides free essentials to HUSD students and families, including:
- Clothing for all seasons (baby to adult)
- Limited shoes and undergarments
- Winter gear (hoodies, coats, gloves, beanies, scarves)
- Backpacks & school supplies
- Hygiene products & feminine hygiene pouches
- Blankets from Project Linus
- Flyers and resources for housing, shelters, healthcare, and food assistance
- Children's books and toys
Now open one Saturday a month! Check social media or call for details.
All items are donated by the community. Donations of new/gently used clothing, school supplies, hygiene products, and gift cards are always welcome! Tax receipts available.

Support for Homeless & Foster Students
Lisa Krietenstein is the HUSD contact for families facing temporary housing situations (McKinney-Vento Program) and foster students.
McKinney-Vento defines homelessness as lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This includes:
- Staying with others due to hardship (doubled-up)
- Living in motels, shelters, or temporary housing
- Sleeping in cars, parks, public spaces, or unsafe conditions
Support Available: School stability, transportation, meal assistance, clothing, and supplies.
If experiencing homelessness, complete a Student Eligibility Form at your school office.
