How to Reserve a Facility:
Any group, organization or individual ("Renter") must complete a Contract for Rental of School Property ("Contract"), provide an Insurance Certificate and pay usage fees according to their user classification. If a Renter claims non-profit status, a copy of the non-profit certificate and/or a copy of a 501(c) (3) status letter must be attached to the Contract.
The Insurance Certificate MUST include the name of the Renter's Insurance company, policy number, valid effective dates, coverage of no less than $1,000,000 liability for bodily injury and property damage and no less than $100,000 Damage to Rented Premises, and the "Humboldt Unified School District" named as "Additional Insured" on the Certificate.
For most Contracts, the Renter must pay all facility. personnel, and equipment fees plus utility surcharges prior to scheduled use of the facilities.
The Humboldt Unified School District has moved to an online facility request process. Please reach out to our Facilities Coordinator, facilities@humboldtunified.com, for details regarding the process of becoming an approved renter. Community users will be required to agree to the Terms and Conditions that the district provides, provide a certificate of Liability Insurance (COI). Additionally, a Letter of IRS Non-Profit Standing will be required to receive non-profit facility rates. Concussion Certificates will be required for any athletic facility use.

Outside User Groups:
Please send your certificate of liability insurance and any 501-C-3 paperwork to facilities@humboldtunified.com. If you are an athletic organization, a list of the coaches and a copy of their concussion certificate will need to be provided as well. Renter status approval will not be provided until all relevant documents have been submitted and meet the District’s minimum standard. Please refer to the certificate of liability insurance example for the District’s minimum requirements.
If the high school stadium or track is the venue of choice, please sign and return the attached Track and Field Guideline.
Once you have received an indication of organization approval, requests can be placed in the system. A minimum of 4 working days, from the date of the submitted request, will need to be factored into the time required for facility use approval. Until a final approval notification is sent to the email of record indicating Status: Active, the facility contract is not fully authorized, and the site cannot be accessed. Once the communication includes Status: Activated, the rental contract is fully authorized and your entity presence on the campus is expected and approved for use.
