Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!

Dear HUSD Families and Community,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of the 2023-2024 school year.  The beginning of the school year is filled with excitement, anticipation, and endless possibilities as we continue the important work of personalized learning in our classrooms. My focus is to ensure every student has the opportunities and resources they need to succeed.  

I am proud and honored to serve Humboldt Unified School District as the Superintendent.  I am thankful for the opportunity to support our students, staff, families, and community.  Together, we will accomplish amazing things.

Updates regarding our campuses:

• Improved safety protocols (including hardening entrances, adding cameras, vape sensors and a visitor sign-in program)

• Personalized Learning (initial furniture orders were placed and will be delivered over the next two months)

• 2,000 devices have been deployed throughout the summer

• New phones to improve connectivity and reliability
