During the meeting on April 15th, the CTE department hosted 6 members of the community to review potential curriculum for the new Carpentry Program. After reviewing the process and the goals of the committee, they evaluated 2 potential curriculum options NCCER Carpentry and Core, and GW Publishing, “Modern Carpentry, 14th edition”.  A major factor in the decision was the alignment of an available industry assessment.  Currently, only curriculum aligned with an industry assessment is NCCER.  Both curricula were graded as a group with a rubric.  Based on the committee feedback and rubric evaluation. We would like to now post the potential curriculum for public viewing for 60 days. Upon the conclusion of the public viewing time, we would like to present the NCCER Core and Carpentry as curriculum for our new Carpentry Program.

When talking with NCCER they cannot give full access to their product, but they do have some sample YouTube videos that can be posted on our district's website.
