2009-2010 Standardized School Apparel

 

Shirts  shall be any solid shade of blue, green, purple, pink, collared or noncollared.    This includes long and short sleeved polo shirts,t-shirts, dress shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, and blouses.  Logos, writing, stripes, added embellishments, or other graphics are not allowed except our school logo.  Shirts or tops must have sleeves and shirttails long enough to be tucked in.  No exposed midsections, spaghetti straps, or undergarments.   White long sleeve shirts may be layered under school apparel color shirts.

 

Pants & Capris  shall be solid khaki, navy, or black.  Plain, non-decorated blue denim jeans and capris will be allowed.  Pants and capris can not be decorated with rhinestones, glitter, or extra embellishments.   Any stitching on pockets shall be the same color of stitching on pant seams.   No capris or jeans of carpenter or cargo styles.  Sweat, corduroy, knit, spandex, or legging capris and pants are not allowed.

 

Skirts/skorts/shorts/capris/A-line jumpers/dresses  shall be a solid shade of khaki, navy, or black. Blue jean material is allowed following pant guidelines above.   All must be hemmed and be no shorter than three inches above the knees.   Tights worn under skirts, skorts, and jumpers can be any solid shade of blue, green, purple, pink, and white.

 

Outer jackets, coats, and zippered hooded sweatshirts shall not have insignia that is gang related, depict weapons or that displays lewd, vulgar, obscene or plainly offensive language or symbols.    All jackets and coats are not to be worn in the classroom.

 

Clothing, accessories, and jewelry shall not be distracting or disruptive in appearance and detrimental to the purpose or conduct of the school will not be permitted  (i.e. gang-related, lewd, vulgar, obscene or offensive language or symbols).  Earrings, for safety purposes, may not be hooped or hanging down. Make-up is not to be worn and only clear lip balm is acceptable.

 

Shoes  shall  include athletic shoes, sandals, or closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes.  All heels must be one inch or less.  “Wheelies” and “flip-flops” will not be allowed.   Sandals must have a strap on the back. 

 

Belts  shall not be gang related (no initials on belt buckles) nor have vulgar words or symbols.  Belt shall not hang down but must be safely tucked in belt loops.   

 

Hats, caps, and sunglasses   shall not have logos and are not to be worn in the building.  Bandanas are not permitted.  Hats and caps should be centered properly on the head with the brim facing forward. 

Hair must be neat and well groomed at all times. No spiked hair, shaved lines or shaved designs are allowed. Unconventional or unusual hair color (such as green, blue, purple, pink etc.) is prohibited. Hairstyles or fads that would interfere with the learning process, cause a disruption of the educational environment or be a health and safety hazard are prohibited.

No opt-outs to the dress code will be allowed except for religious or medical/disability reasons or uniforms of nationally recognized organizations (i.e. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.).

 

Guidelines   All clothing must be properly fitted.  Oversized, baggy or improperly fitted clothing will not be allowed.  Clothing must be in good repair without holes and tears.  Pants, shorts, skorts, capris, skirts and jeans must be worn on the waist, belted or not; “sagging” is prohibited.

 

Attire Exception Days  such as spirit days or picture days students may wear other attire; however attire must still be properly fitted and shall not have insignia that is gang related or that displays lewd, vulgar, obscene, weapons or plainly offensive language or symbols.

 

Where to Purchase  Wal Mart will be our main supplier for our standardized school apparel.  They will carry the colors and styles that we require.  In addition, you may also shop other stores including, but not limited to, Stepping Stones, Goodwill, Kohl’s, Dillard’s, Sears, K Mart, J.C. Penney, Old Navy and Target.  Styles and colors must match the acceptable clothing list.

Long and short sleeve T-shirts, pull-over hooded and crew neck sweatshirts, with our school insignia, will be available from our school.
