On behalf of the students at Mountain View Elementary School, I would like to invite you and your friends and relatives to participate in the State of Arizona Public School Tax Credit program that is available to all Arizona taxpayers. Arizona State Law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows you to receive a tax credit when you give up to $400 (for joint tax returns) or $250 (for individual returns) to a public school for extracurricular activities that require an enrolled student to pay a fee. Instead of the money going to the state treasury, it goes straight to helping our students. The funds do not go to the school district’s budget, they stay earmarked for Mountain View. For example, if you owe state income tax at the end of the 2009 tax year, you could owe as much as $400 less following a donation to Mountain View Elementary School. If you qualify for a tax refund at the end of 2009, your donation of up to $400 would increase your tax refund by the same amount!
