Superintendent's Message

February, 2012

Dear Friends of The Humboldt Schools:

Second semester is off to a great start at HUSD. Students continue to distinguish themselves, teachers and staff remain devoted to continuous improvement, our parents and community sustain their steadfast support of the District, and the Governing Board maintains a firm focus on its three goals: Raising Student Achievement, Planning for Their Future Needs and Increasing Parental and Community Involvement.

As Superintendent, it is always a privilege to reflect on the many district endeavors that promote academic achievement and prepare our students for their college and career experiences. Our diverse academic programs, both curricular and extra-curricular, remain firmly focused on academic seriousness. Elementary through high school students continue to be engaged in fine arts and musical activities that deliver memorable experiences to delighted audiences. Athletic seasons and extra-curricular activities find our talented young athletes on basketball courts, in pools, and on the fields, well supported by enthusiastic fans. Staff and student documented acts of service insist on making a positive impact in our community. Through our innovation agenda, the District is hard at work, identifying research-based programs that will retain and attract new students. Schools and departments were invited to record the highlights of the 2011 Fall Semester accomplishments and successes. I assure you that you will be impressed with the list.  Please see the files below to view both department and school successes.

It is clear that the spirit and pride of our educational community remains stronger than ever. Thank you for partnering with us in our shared purpose of educating, involving, preparing, and inspiring our children.
Sincerely,

Dr. Paul Stanton, Superintendent
The Humboldt Schools
