Dear Parents:

My name is Ms. Mark and I am the Guidance Counselor at Bradshaw Mountain Middle School.

I have enjoyed more than ten years of experience working with children and adolescents in both educational and behavioral health settings.  I am looking forward to continuing my career in this field as a member of the BMMS administration. I will be working with the teachers and staff at BMMS as well as with you and your child to make his/her middle school experience a success. I expect to be involved in a variety of activities related to the following:

• Establishing and maintaining student schedules
• Monitoring grades to determine satisfactory academic progress 
• Counseling for students experiencing personal, social, behavioral, or family problems
• Planning and leading workshops on psychoeducational topics, e.g., drug and alcohol prevention, anger management, study skills
• Administering and interpreting achievement and aptitude testing
• Providing career counseling as appropriate at the middle school level
• Communicating and consulting with parents, teachers, school administrators, or social workers regarding student adjustment issues
• Responding to school crises and emergency situations
