HUSD Kindergarten Registration

2010-11 Kindergarten Registration
2010-11 Registración de su Niño/Niña para el Kinder

The Humboldt Unified School District elementary schools - Coyote Springs (759-4300), Granville (759-4800), Humboldt (759-4400), Lake Valley (759-4200), Liberty Traditional (759-4500) and Mountain View (759-4700) - will be conducting spring kindergarten registration for the 2010-11 school year starting Monday, March 29th, and continuing through Thursday, April 1st.

School offices will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily for registration, with no appointment necessary. All elementary schools will also offer evening registration on one day to accommodate working parents.

Date: Tuesday, March 30th
Time: From 5-7 p.m.

Parents should bring to registration a certified birth certificate, a copy of the child’s immunization record, and documentation showing proof of current residence. Registering upcoming kindergartners at this time will provide parents with hand-outs and other useful information that will help their children prepare for kindergarten. Children registering for kindergarten should be 5 years of age by August 31, 2010.

Families who are unable to register this week may still register their children after that date. Please visit your school office as soon as possible to register your kindergarten student. The Humboldt Unified School District welcomes our newest students and looks forward to a long and productive relationship with all of the families within our educational community.

A link to registration forms, instructions, and requirements is on the right.
“Si no habla inglés, por favor llame a Rosie al (928) 759-4200 o a Mary al (928) 759-5007 para más información sobre la registración de su niño/niña para el kinder.”

Harlem Globetrotter Visits Mountain View Elementary

Ian Foss, a former MVES student, arranged for Buckets Blakes #15, of the Harlem Globetrotters to visit Mountain View on Feb. 24th to present the C.H.E.E.R. character education program to our students.  Pictured above are students (and one teacher) who volunteered to assist in defining Cooperation, Healthy mind and body, Effort, Enthusiasm and Responsibility.  Mr. Blakes demonstrated Globetrotter basketball handling skills with a "C.H.E.E.R." basketball as part of their 2010 World Tour, celebrating the team's 84th Anniversary.  The C.H.E.E.R. program was developed by the Globetrotters with assistance from the U.S. Department of Education.   Ian Foss, a 2002 BMHS graduate, is now the Marketing Director for the Harlem Globetrotters.
